FEBRUARY’S BIBLE TRIVIA
Simply answer the questions & turn in the form during the last week of the month & you will earn a gold star.
NOTE: To give better recognition to the students who complete the Bible Trivia each month,
stars will only be given out at the end of each Monday & Friday classes in February (with a few exceptions)
until all have been awarded.
If you have missed getting any stars for your Bible Trivia, see Ms. Mandy so you can get yours.
February’s S.T.A.R.S. (Students Taking A Responsible Stand) sheets are on the front table.
February 4th - 9th COURAGE February 11th - 16th HONESTY
February 18th - 23rd GOAL SETTING February 25th - March 1st COMMITMENT
Each student must successfully complete the STARS sheets (with parents help if needed).
Turn them in during the last week of the month, & you will be rewarded with a SILVER STAR in class.
NOTE: To give better recognition to the students who complete the STARS Programs each month,

until all have been awarded.

FEBRUARY’S STRIPE TESTING
will be Wednesday, February 27th and Thursday, February 28th.
NOTE: Due to the tests- No regular classes. Complete uniforms MUST be worn to test.
Remember, you only need to come to ONE TEST unless an Instructor tells you otherwise!
Little Dragons: 3:15pm OR 5:30pm (each day)
Beginner Kids (white - yellow belts): 3:15pm OR 5:00pm (each day)
Int. & Adv. Kids (green - Black Belts): 3:15pm OR 6:00pm (each day)
Teens & Adults (all ranks): 7:30pm (each day)
Little Dragons MUST have a minimum of 4 classes by Tuesday, February 26th.
Kids, Teens, and Adults MUST have a minimum of 8 classes by Tuesday, February 26th.
BBC & SWAT members: BBC & SWAT Classes DO NOT count toward regular # of classes.
BLACK BELT CLUB JUJITSU STRIPE TESTS
will be Wednesday, February 27th at 7:30pm OR Thursday, February 28th at 5:00pm.

BBC Jujitsu students: Be sure and have a tanto and bokken for Jujitsu class.
To help everyone also understand how the class count works for this month:
February’s Class Count starts on Friday, Feb. 1st and goes through Tuesday, Feb. 26th.
BLACK BELT CLUB WEAPONS STUDENTS!
The Black Belt Club Weapon for the 1st Quarter (January-March) is BO STAFF.
Make sure that you have the required weapon
when you come to weapons class this quarter.
Don’t forget! We are offering BBC Weapons Classes
on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
that will count toward your required number (4) of classes.
Students will be tested in Weapons during your Karate Stripe Test.

As most of you know, Rebecca Chappell, who has been our Enrollment Director for the past 5 years,
has decided to pursue other interests at this time.
We sure will miss her, but we wish her all of the best.
CFK has always been a family owned and operated business from the very beginning,
so it has been a little challenging for us to get used to these recent changes.
We appreciate your patience as we get adjusted!
At the same time, we would like to WELCOME: Pamela Dodgen. She is our new Enrollment Director.
We are thrilled and excited to have her as part of our team! Welcome, Pamela!!
On Sat., Jan. 26th
we held our 10th ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET & DINNER.
This was one of our best attended thus far in CFK history!
Congratulations to all of the 2007 students for a JOB WELL DONE!
We would also like to congratulate and thank all of the Instructors and our Leadership Team for helping us to have the best martial arts classes possible!
A BIG Thanks to all of you who have volunteered throughout the year of 2007! We sincerely appreciate your time and efforts!

Patches are given out on Mondays & Fridays (with a few exceptions) until all have been awarded.

Any student who can perform the full splits, please let Chappell Sensei know.
You will be allowed to demonstrate the full splits in class and will be awarded with a FULL SPLITS patch in class also. If any student who has recently demonstrated the FULL SPLITS

All Students:
Remember that you MUST have the required equipment to participate in Sparring:
Beginner students who participate in hand pad drills must have Handpads and a Mouthpiece.
Intermediate and Advanced students who participate in regular sparring must have a Headgear, Handpads, Feetpads, Shinguards, and a Mouthpiece.
Also, males must wear a groin cup.
Please be advised that in the event of inclement weather during these winter months,
we may have to cancel classes with little or no notice.
Even though roads and weather conditions may be okay in Hartselle,
we live in the county and may not be able to drive in to town safely.
If you ever have any doubt of whether or not we will be open, please watch WAFF 48 or call the school.
ALL BLACK BELTS: Be sure and have 3 Sais this quarter
as you will be learning a 3 Sai Form.
BLACK BELT CLUB and MASTER’S CLUB!
IT’S SOCIAL TIME!
On Saturday, Feb. 2nd, from 7-9:30pm,
we are going ICE SKATING at Point Mallard Ice Complex in Decatur.
If we have 20 or more skaters, the cost is $6 per skater.
If we have less than 20 skaters, the cost is $8 per skater.
Upon arrival, let them know that you are with CFK!

JANUARY’S KARATE MAKE-UP CLASSES & MAKE-UP STRIPE TESTS
If you did not get your required number of classes in for January and/or you missed Stripe Testing,
we will offer free MAKE-UP CLASSES and MAKE-UP STRIPE TESTS on SAT., FEBRUARY 9th .
(February’s Make Up Day is tentatively scheduled for March 8th.)
MAKE-UP CLASS SCHEDULE:
ALL BEGINNERS (Kids, Teens, & Adults) 10am-12pm BLACK BELT CLUB JUJITSU 10am-12pm LITTLE DRAGONS 11am-12pm ALL INT. & ADV. (Kids, Teens, & Adults) 1-3pm
Each 30 minutes counts as one class. So if you need 4 classes, stay 2 hours.
If you need 3 classes, stay 1˝ hours. If you need 2 classes, stay 1 hour.
If you need 1 class, stay 30 minutes.
Then we will have MAKE-UP STRIPE TESTS.
So if you needed Make-Up Classes you will also need to stay for the Make-Up Stripe Tests.
MAKE-UP TEST SCHEDULE:
LITTLE DRAGONS: 12pm BEGINNER KIDS, BEGINNER TEENS, & BEGINNER ADULTS: 12pm
BBC JUJITSU: 12pm INT./ADV. KIDS, INT./ ADV. TEENS, & INT./ ADV. ADULTS, & BLACK BELTS: 3pm
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not come to these MAKE UP CLASSES & MAKE UP STRIPE TESTS,
there will be a $10.00 CHARGE for EACH additional class & a $15.00 charge for the test.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
will meet on Saturday, Feb. 9th at 4:00pm at the school.
On Saturday, Feb. 16thfrom 3-4pm, we are going to host a SPAR-A-THON for St. Jude’s Hospital.
(originally the fundraiser was going to be for Project Action, but that has been changed.)
We have to hurry-we only have about 2 weeks.
We will have 1 minute rounds during the SPAR-A-THON.
